Our school produces three recitals per year:
In December - “ The Spirit of Christmas”,
In April - ” Night of the Stars”
In August - ” The Dancers at Work”.
All recitals are optional for the student. The same costume will be used in all shows. Our performances are held at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen on Mountain Road ,in a very quaint theatre with seating for 350. All seats are great and it is very easy to see the stage and your dancer up close. Tickets are $12.00 and seating is reserved.
Intensive Program
This program is for the serious students who choose to make dance their primary activity. and are trained with the consideration of pursuing a career in theater or dance. This competitive performance company is known as the “Hanover Show Biz Kids”
The Hanover Showbiz Kids
The company requires more from the student as does any group or team that must work together to be the best they can be. Students of all levels are encouraged to visit the Showbiz classes to experience a more intense level of their love of the Arts. All Students are encouraged to experience the Art of Performance and are given every opportunity to “take the stage” and entertain for family, friends, and community. The company contributes many hours to community entertainment in Senior care homes, malls, churches, parades, and school festivals. The Showbiz Kids study from two - eight hours per week and have the opportunity to study more if desired. They compete with dancers all over the USA and Canada. Some of the competitions we have participated in throughout the years are New York City Dance Alliance, Dance Educators of America, West Coast Dance Explosion, P. D. T. A. - Stars of Tomorrow, Prime Time Talent, Showbiz Talent, Dance Olympus, and Star Power. The network of dance friends the Show Biz Kids have made throughout the USA is awesome. Competitions and performance opportunities are valuable for the students’ personal growth and increases confidence, leadership and good sportsmanship. The showbiz kids have repeatedly won the “Backstage Award” and the “Kindness of Heart Award” at competitions.
