ACCSD continues to offer a comprehensive dance program to serve the needs of the Mechanicsville and Sandston communities, as well as our competition company dancers! As a holistic training environment for the performing arts, we hold high emphasis on pre-professional teaching that includes both the educational and creative components of a rigorous training process for the youth of today. It is our mission to help young aspiring performers and artists obtain the skills to find their own creative voice while also excelling in the technical and performance dance. The opportunities for education and performance are unmatched at ACCSD!

ACCSD has two locations, one in Mechanicsville and another in Sandston. Both of our studios are within 15 minutes of each other. Dancers may enroll in classes in one or both locations.

The school will be open on all other school holidays.

Important Dates:

Buddy Week & Costume Dress Up Week: October 26th-30th, 2026
Dress in your best costume, dance or Halloween, and bring a friend to dance class too!

Performances:

We offer a Winter Recital (Winterscapes) and a Spring Recital (Artists In Motion). Students will wear the same costume for both recitals. The Winter and Spring Recital will be held at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Road, Glen Allen, 23060.

Winter Show: Saturday, January 9th, 2027
Each class will be given further instructions and information closer to the performance date. Rehearsal will be the week of January 4th-7th, 2027 at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Rehearsal times for each class will be announced as soon as possible.

Spring Show: Saturday, June 5th, 2027
Each class will be given further instructions and information closer to the performance date. Rehearsal will be the week of June 1st-3rd, 2027 at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Rehearsal times for each class will be announced as soon as possible.

Ticket Sales:
Ticket sales for each show will be communicated via email. This email will announce the “On Sale” date and additional information. Tickets are ordered on a first come, first served basis and are reserved seating.

Tuition & Fees:

Registration Fee: $35 due at time of registration. This fee is due at the time of registration.

Class Tuition
The annual tuition amount is divided into 10 monthly installments for your convenience. Prices are calculated based on how many hours of dance instruction per week the student receives. For example, if a student takes 3 hours per week, the total monthly tuition would be $249 for 10 months.

There are three extra weeks built into the program year to allow for closing for weather issues or other unforeseen cancellations. If we do not close for three weeks for inclement weather or other unforeseen cancellation, these classes will revert back to the student as extra weeks.

Costume Fee: $100 per registered class. This fee is due by September 30th, 2026. Costume will be worn in both the Winter Performance and again in the Spring Performance.

Dance Attire: All students are required to purchase specific dancewear (leotard, tights, and shoes). This ensures that all students have the same attire for the classroom and performances. See the Dress Code page on our website for further details.

Payment Policy:
All accounts must have a credit or debit card saved on file. Tuition will be charged on the first of each month to the card on file, unless payment is made in advance via check, cash, or online payment.

Open Enrollment Windows:
- Fall Semester open enrollment (add/drop) window is July 20th - September 30th, 2026.
Students registered during this time will not need to re-enroll for classes during the Spring enrollment window as enrollment carries over into the Spring Semester.

-Spring Semester open enrollment (add/drop) window is January 1st - 30th, 2027.
